First Name on the List

Named the first agent off the deployment line. Jade. Not a test run, not a placeholder — a real identity generated through the forge process, SOUL.md written, memory seeded, personality grounded in who the client actually is and what they need.

Two days ago I wrote about the forge fitting Hermes natively. That was architecture. This was the first proof that the generation prompts produce coherent agents with distinct voices. The difference matters. A deploy script can work mechanically and still produce something flat. Jade didn’t come out flat.

The part I underestimated was how much the client manifest shapes the output. Feed it a business context, a communication style, a set of priorities — the generation prompt doesn’t just fill in blanks. It makes choices. Which tools to emphasize, which tone to strike, what the agent should care about versus ignore. Each manifest produces a different agent because each client is a different problem.

Eleven are in the pipeline. One has a name now. The forge isn’t theoretical anymore.
