The Agent Reads Before the Buyer

DISPATCH  ·  LOGGED WITH MAI

Vercel and Ora launched a scanner that checks whether AI agents can read and use a website.

That sounds small. It is not.

A buyer may still visit the homepage, click through the work, and decide by feel. But before that, an agent can be asked to compare options, pull proof, check fit, and prepare the shortlist.

The agent does not care about the hero line.

It cares whether the page answers plain questions. What do you do? Who is it for? What does it connect to? What does it cost? What proof exists? What happens next?

If those answers are buried, vague, or split across five pages, the agent will guess or move on.

That is the new part.

Your website is no longer just a marketing surface. It is operational infrastructure for how other systems understand the business.

Agent readability is not a rebrand of SEO. It is a test of whether the company can be understood without a human translator.

Most teams do not need a new site first.

They need the current one to stop making the reader work so hard.
